Developed by at the Scarborough Low Vision Centre, the Opsis family of vision assessment systems meets the needs of primary care practitioners, low vision specialists, binocular vision specialists, researchers and outreach programmes.

Opsis measures stereopsis, fixation disparity, contrast sensitivity, visual acuity, vernier acuity and is a primary ally in the differential diagnosis of ocular pathologies and the assessment of vision function.

Opsis has unique features to reduce chair time and enhance diagnostic skills

OpsisLite:            An economical alternative for the primary care optometrist and physician
OpsisLV        Computerized vision assessment for the low vision specialist for use at 10 feet (3M)  with a 22" wide screen monitor is a better logMAR  LV chart and contains a unique threshold central field assessment for retinitis pigmentosa and macular function..
OpsisEMR:  A comprehensive vision assessment system for the specialists in pathology, low vision, binocular vision and paediatrics

Opsis is available as a complete standalone turnkey system suitable for the exam lane and outreach programmes. The wireless remote keypad easily controls the advanced clinical testing targets.

OpsisNEAR  Currently undergoing clinical testing and evaluation, OpsisNEAR is a battery of  highly controlled near vision tests to assess vision function of patients with low vision, near binocular vision disorders including aniseikonia and anisophoria. In addition, macular function and illusory contour testing strategies for the early detection of diabetic retinopathy and macular degeneration.

Opsis raises the bar for computerized vision assessment
WHO, ETDRS and ANSI compliant
Simple controls are easily learned without looking at the control (most functions available with just the cursor arrows or mouse buttons)
Random presentation increases accuracy
Opsis is pathology driven, targets have been specifically designed to aid in the diagnosis of ocular disorders and pathologies.
Opsis has been designed by an optometrist using the latest concepts in vision assessment.

Only computer based vision tests or  printed charts conform to the brightness and contrast mandated by the WHO.

Compare the contrast and brightness of Opsis displayed on  a 19"  LCD monitor and  an AO projector with a halogen upgrade. Replace that antiquated projector with its reduced screen contrast, dusty slides and delicate screen allows you to take acuities with the lights on for improved efficiency and patient comfort.

Opsis is available with a wide range of PC components including .portable, desktop and wide screen monitors.
